Glad you asked. :)
Could you tell me more about telehealth?
Therapy via telehealth happens in online video sessions conducted through my personal encrypted site on Doxy.me. I’ve found this platform to be just as effective as in-person appointments, and clients really appreciate the convenience of telehealth so they can make the most of their already-full schedules.
How long are sessions?
Sessions are 50-minutes long. I set a timer so I don’t have to be distracted by looking at a clock. The timer will go off after 45 minutes, signaling we have 5 minutes to wrap up and then schedule our next session. If you would like to have longer sessions, we can meet for 90-minutes, but these sessions must be requested beforehand. 30-minute sessions are not available for scheduling.
How often do we meet? How long should I expect to be in therapy?
I generally meet with individuals once a week in the beginning of therapy. Once you begin noticing progress, we can move appointments to an every-other-week basis.
How long a person will be in therapy is dependent upon the severity of the issue at hand. We will target your main goals first. After that, it’s up to you if you’d like to continue working on other goals.
I’d like my partner to join me in my individual session. Is that okay?
I’m more than happy to have a partner join in one or two sessions as a show of support to you. If you are in need of couples counseling, I have great referral sources!
Do you offer in-person sessions?
No. My practice is entirely telehealth (online video sessions). Telehealth appointments are conducted through my personal encrypted site on Doxy.me. All you need is a smart phone/tablet/computer and an internet connection. Once an appointment is scheduled, I’ll send instructions on how to connect to my Virtual Waiting Room.
What days do you meet with clients?
I meet with clients during the day, Monday through Thursday via telehealth.
How do I schedule an appointment?
Contact me to schedule an appointment and to receive a link to fill out paperwork through my secure online portal. If you are an existing client, you can schedule an appointment here.
